I’m very excited to be taking part in the Saltaire Arts Trail over the late May bank holiday weekend on 24-26 May.

Saltaire, a village near Bradford in West Yorkshire, is named after Sir Titus Salt. In the mid-1800s he built a textile mill here on the River Aire, along with a village to house the workers. Each house was supplied with water, sanitation and gas. The mill now contains galleries, shops and offices, and the whole village was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.

Every year the charity Saltaire Inspired organises the Saltaire Arts Trail, where homes and businesses in the village host shows by different artists. There’s also a makers’ fair in Victoria Hall, and exhibitions at Salt Mill, including a textile exhibition and works by David Hockney.

As I work on quite a small scale, I thought it would be fun to show my work in a domestic setting rather than a gallery. So I will be exhibiting at 30 Helen Street (number 21 on the Arts Trail), alongside another artist Bertrand Faupin.

As the cottage is quite small, I will be focusing on my coiled pieces. These include Elements (exhibited at the recent Prism exhibition), Mobius strips, and some coiled bowls.

You can download a leaflet with more information about the event here.
