It’s just under two weeks until the Prism Textiles exhibition “In Search of Possibilities” opens at the Art Pavilion in Mile End, London.
Our last physical exhibition was in Birmingham in October 2019 – of course, last year’s exhibition was cancelled (though we did manage an alternative version online). So it’s exciting to be back in a gallery space, being able to chat with other artists and visitors.
Due to precautions around Covid-19, there are still some restrictions, so we have decided not to hold a private view this year. However, the exhibition is open daily from 21 to 31 October, 11am to 6pm. Entry is free and there’s no need to book.
I will be stewarding on Friday 22 October, so if you are able to come on that day it would be lovely to see you and say hello.
I have two pieces in the exhibition. Here’s a sneak peek of one of them, “Under the Shell”. In lockdown we all retreated into our shells. But in the animal world, shell-dwellers take their homes with them wherever they go, with no need to return to base. The world is indeed their oyster!
I can’t show you a picture of the bindweed piece until it is actually hanging in the gallery. So watch this space!
